Case Study: TryMyPost - Building a Tool for Ourselves

Every time we had to publish content on Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter, we found ourselves taking screenshots, editing, re-uploading, rechecking. Native previews don't show exactly how the final post will appear, especially with particular image formats or long captions.

After yet another frustration, we decided: let's build it ourselves.

The idea was simple: create a simulator that faithfully replicates the interface of major social networks. Nothing revolutionary, just a useful tool.

TryMyPost allows you to upload an image, write the caption, and see in real-time how the post will appear on Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. No registration required in the first version, no complexity.

After using the tool for ourselves for a few weeks, we decided to share it with some colleagues. They also found the accurate preview useful.

From there, we added some requested features:
• Ability to save drafts
• Support for more social platforms
• Improvements in simulation accuracy

There was no strategic growth plan. Just iterations based on real feedback from people who actually used the product.

Build for yourself first: The best tools come from genuine needs, not market trends.

Simplicity wins: Complex features aren't needed if the core value is clear and well-executed.

Continuous iteration: Every feedback received is an opportunity to improve the product.

Not everything needs to scale: It's okay to build useful tools even if they don't become million-user unicorns.

TryMyPost continues to be a tool we use daily for our work. Some people have discovered it and find it useful, which makes us happy.

We haven't monetized yet nor pursued aggressive growth. For now it remains what it was at the beginning: a tool born from our need, shared with those who might find it useful.
